  • On the top of my list is 8248 because I love the retro look and it would be easy to update it a bit by using different fabrics on top or the collar or even the belt. The possibilities are endless.

  • Pattern 8383
Is a garment that always will look good, any season, any colour is simply a classic!
I personally will add some colourful trimmings on the hems and add length with a thicker fabric for the not so good weather time 😉

  • I think I should like to win pattern 8342, as it is vintage – a bit like me! I have not had time for much sewing these past years, but now I am retired I am hopng to get back into it in a big way so some new patterns of any type in fact, would be appreciated.

  • Pattern 8180
I have just completed a Men’s shirt making course and have bought some gorgeous Campervan material which is in my stash waiting for me to make the perfect shirt for our travelling exploits.

  • i’d choose 8342. for two reasons, one its vintage like myself, and 2 it actually looks as if it will fit my shape. im a plus size and most patterns only go up to size 22 (im 24) and usually theyre US sizing, but i know i could add a couple of inches to this, and actually by adding a top, make a nice dress!! (Famous last words!! im only back into sewing after a long time)

  • My choice would be 6390 . It looks vintage class suitable not only for an everyday look but versatile enough to make it for a special occasion. My nephew gets married next July and I would love to wear it in a beautiful kingfisher blue fabric for that.

  • I would choose 8383 as it is a pattern which I could support my daughter, who is learning to sew, with the initial make and then to learn to adjust for length, material selection and sleeve length and shape.

  • 6390 is perfect – a short boxy jacket and flared skirt to the dress. I’d pick a purple print for the dress and a plain navy for the jacket
All that is required is a pair of heels – hey Preston and ready to go!

  • The top of my list would be the Best Newcomer, Pattern 8383. I love its simplicity and it would be a perfect make to add some pretty floral embroidery on, or even some brightly colored geometric patterns. I’d probably sew it in a salmon color and add a pair of heeled boots and a leather jacket. A perfect add to my autumn wardrobe.

  • Definitely would recommend 6401, simple really easy to use with an elegant finish to which will suit anyones needs. I believe even though they are looked at to be an occasional style it should suggest an own interpretation to make it your own and unique and possibly an everyday style.

  • Top of my list is 8248 as I have some fab duvet covers to make the dress in and be totally different from everyone else 😍 xx

  • 6390
My daughter is getting married next year and this pattern is exactly what I’m looking for, only thing I dont want to look better than the bride lol

  • Right now I’m looking forward to the summer and plenty of weekend get a way’s, and travelling light. Being in to vintage I’m loving the 1356 Simplicity Jiffy pattern, being able to dress it up, being reversible I can travel light and with great colours and patterned fabrics the style is exclusive to my taste in fabrics and colours. So luckily I will look like I have taken a full wardrobe with only a few dress, and be confident and comfortable during my trips.

  • Top of my list is Pattern 8180 Boys’ and Men’s Shirt, Boxer Shorts and Tie. I’d make shirts for my other half and boys.

  • 6390
I have just returned to sewing after several years of not having the time and really looking forward to making my own clothes again.
