  • Hi since my cancer diagnosis four years ago I took up sewing and it has been absolutely wonderful to take my mind off things as I had a lot of horrible treatment and seven operations. And making things makes me feel good but at the moment I’m machines are working that well so sewing by hand when I can . I would love to win and share with my friends as never one anything in my life . Xx

  • I have just started sewing again with the pandemic that is on and it keeps me busy whilst stuck indoors trying to keep safe so would love to win and keep me with material to make items for the grandchildren. So far I have made cushions with zips which was a first but managed.

  • My two eldest grandchildren one to uni and one to live with her boyfriend.I would love to make them a sewing box like your make-up-bag in issue 47 of Lovesewing. but larger Please can you help? Thankyou.I have enjoyed write up on Clare Bradley a deserving winner of Sewing Bee.

  • I would love to win this prize. I have been doing some sewing throughout lockdown, so this fabric would be much appreciated.

  • Absolutely gutted to have missed the chance to enter this competition, as this fabric would have been invaluable to me for making gifts, especially for my baby niece’s 1st birthday & with Xmas rapidly approaching. I have a number of physical & mental health issues &, as such, am not working, so I’m on an incredibly tight budget, & value time to arts & crafts to support my mental health. Unfortunately I do not have a TV, or Wi-Fi or broadband, so making & reading are vital for my mental health. Sadly my mobile data had expired & only renewed today, Weds 2.9.20. I therefore excitedly logged in here to enter the competition, only to be thwarted by your unusual entry deadline. Your magazine states the closing date as 3.9.20 & doesn’t note that it is the start of that day, at 12am, or effectively the end of the day before. I actually feel somewhat aggrieved by this, especially as a long term subscriber.

I really feel that this should be made explicitly clear in the magazine as whenever closing dates for competitions & giveaways are quoted elsewhere the date is included to enter (not excluded, as is effectively the case here). The only exceptions/cases where there is a specific timed deadline these are clearly noted. For instance, “close of business on…”; “11.59pm on…”; or “entries must be received by…”. I strongly suspect I am not the only hopeful reader who has fallen foul of this & wound up disappointed, upset, & frustrated. Please take this as honest, constructive criticism, & rephrase your entry deadline information in the magazine, soon! Thank you!
