butterick B4443 review

This issue comes with a gorgeous free Butterick pattern gift, a 6-in-1 princess seam dress – Butterick B4443. We have a great reviewer this month, Anne Marshall – find her on Instagram @madewithmadness she’s more well known for her quilting, a regular contributor to our sister magazine Quilt Now – however, she has done an amazing job on the strapless version of this dress.  We love her fabric choice, Alison Glass Geometric Sunset from

  • Too much embroidery and patchwork in edition 50 of Love Sewing magazine for my taste. I will probably make a dress from the attached Butterick pattern 4443 and possibly make the large pocketed skirt (although I don’t need the download as I already have A line skirt patterns that I could adapt to have large pockets). The Beading article and childs dress also leave me cold. Others may disagree of course. Personally however, I don’t feel this mag. is aimed at me!

  • Love the amount of patchwork, quilting and embroidery this month – please keep up with it. I used to have subs to 2 sewing mags each month but converted one of them to a quilting mag instead as I do little in the way of garment sewing, preferring more of the craft side of things.

  • I cannot download the lemon dress.pdf pattern.
Did anyone have the same problem ?Did I try too early?

    thanks for your help.

    • Hello.
I downloaded the pattern just a moment ago and it worked fine. What exactly did you mean when you said you couldn’t download it? Could you not find the pattern on list of downloads? Or did you find it, click the download button and nothing happended? Let us know if you still have problems, and what exactly is happening.

  • I have tried entering the competition for this years 2018 for the machine and various other items byut your web site has not been updated!

      • Re your reply to me. I have typed in the correct address and can find details of what is in the magazine but there is nothing on the site about issue 50 competitions. I note someone else has emailed you to tell you the same and said that your site has not been updated. I can get up the old competitions that are out of date, but that’s all.

        • Hi Marilyn. The competitions aren’t located on the Love Sewing website to keep them private for readers to enter. If you type the exact web address into the address bar of our browser and hit the return key it should take you straight to the special competitions website rather than the love sewing website or a list of google search results. I hope that makes sense. If you’re on the right website you’ll see a page with a striped background and a heading of Love Sewing 50 Giveaways. Best of luck. Amy

  • Absolutely love Amys dress,, very summery fabric and really flattering :),, does it show you how to add this type sleeve in the magazine (I hate my arms lol)
