Sew Me Something – Fabric Giveaway!
The Iris Frill Top size 6 to 22 – Issue 44 Love Sewing
The frill trend isn’t going anywhere soon! We love this top with a frill which also forms a little sleeve and a neat little button loop closure.
Are you planning on sewing up the Iris frill top, but you’re not sure which fabric to choose? Once you have your copy of Issue 44, you can download the frill top pattern here – Frill Top Sewing Pattern (instructions are on page 48-49 of Issue 44)
Pattern designer Julia Falon of Sew Me Something has helpfully picked 5 fabrics that would work perfectly with this pattern. Plus if you like the Pink Crepe used on our model version, we have a bundle of fabric, thread and a little button to giveaway to one lucky reader.
Coral Soft Linen – This is such a beautifully soft linen and the curved edge of the frill would look great left as a raw edge.
Luxury Crepe Emerald – This fabric has such a beautiful drape to it making the flounce sit perfectly. It would look amazing for a Christmas party.
Navy Polkadot Rayon – The soft drapey nature of this rayon is just gorgeous and you could use a contrast thread to really make a feature of the flounced edge.
Cobalt and Ochre Rayon – I love the print on this fabric it would look fabulous with jeans and plenty of gold bangles.
Polar Grey Washed Linen – This fabric would certainly give the Iris Top more of a casual feel and again the raw edge of the frill would look really effective.
